Damnernsaduak Floating Market (Talat Nam Klong Ton Khem) is in Amphur Damnernsaduak, was first open to the world in 1967 and became one of the most famous tourist sites in Thailand with the great scenes of floating markets as garderers wearing dark blue dress with bamboo woven hats on their heads in small paddled boats loading with fruits, vegetable and everything for sale or exchange in Damnernsaduak canal dug in King Rama IV period around 1866, more than 32 km long. Today it is very famous as world class tourist site, about 80 km by car from Bangkok. We recommend you to go early in the morning around 08.00-09.00 hr when the market is crowded with boats and people. The gardeners can now speak English and other languages veru well. Most visitors, foreigners and local people will find delicious food and fresh fruits with many souvenirs to keep. Today there are more floating markets in the country but Damnernsaduak Floating Market is still the most famous place to visit Thai living styles on the boats in the morning. You can rent a boat with paddler or long-tailed boat to go around coconut gardens, to see fresh hot coconut sugar in the making and local people ways of living in just one hour trip. Besides, visitors can take a walk across the back bridge to another old market nearby called Lao Tuk luk floating market, another charming place to visit.
